Bryant Berney
At 13, I started a company to help people with epilepsy communicate during a seizure. Today, I'm a sophomore at Tufts studying economics and psychology, and learning how capital decides what gets built next
Built
Founded ME Wearables in 2019 to help people with epilepsy communicate during a seizure. Authored a U.S. patent application and analyzed over 10 million epilepsy event logs from 5,000 NYU patients in collaboration with NYU Langone.
Studying
BA/BS in Economics and Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Tufts University. GPA 3.71. Coursework in Finance 360, Entrepreneurial Marketing, and Psychopathology.
Looking Ahead
Targeting a career in finance, investment banking, venture capital, and private equity. Drawn to the intersection of capital, healthcare, and technology, and to bringing a builder's instinct to the investor's seat.
ME Wearables
Medical emergency tools for people living with epilepsy.
Wearables, bracelets, watches, charms, and pouches that hold emergency medication and display a personalized seizure-response protocol through a scannable QR code. When someone is having a seizure, a bystander scans the code and sees a prerecorded video from the patient with exact instructions, identification, and emergency contacts.
The product was inspired by watching someone I love live with the constant uncertainty of epilepsy. ME Wearables is built on the belief that no one should have to rely on a stranger guessing at how to help.
Why Finance
I've spent seven years figuring out how to take a problem and turn it into a product, patents, prototypes, clinical research, and advisors. Finance is the other side of that equation: deciding which ideas get the capital to scale, which companies survive their hardest quarters, and how the next generation of healthcare, technology, and consumer companies actually come to be.
I want to learn to evaluate businesses with the same rigor I've used to build one. The best investors are the ones who have actually tried to make a thing work and I want to be one of them.
